Medium Philodendron Micans
Commonly known as the Velvetleaf Philodendron, or the Sweetheart Vine, this easy-to-care-for, fast-growing plant is native to the Caribbean and Mexico. With its deep green, velvety leaves and boldly contrasting red undersides, and vining nature, the Philodendron Micans is a stunner that will bring the outdoors feel to your space!
Being that it's from a tropical environment, it thrives in high humidity, warm temperatures, slightly moist, well-draining soil, medium to indirect bright light and can vine up to 5 ft. indoors. This makes them great to pot hanging baskets and place in a brightly lit room! Over time this plant may lose some leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant's life cycle. Pruning back the stems but cutting just above the node, will promote less leggy, more compact growth if it starts to look somewhat leggy.
