Medium Philodendron Dragon Tail (Rhaphidorphora decursiva)
Hardy and durable, the fast-growing Dragon Tail will please plant parents for years if properly cared for. Similar to a Monstera, the Dragon Tail's shiny dark green leaves will split as they get bigger and older. These plants are originally from the humid forests of the Solomon Islands, so they love a warm spot with indirect bright light. If you notice your plant seems to be stretching, with longer stem sections between the leaves, this is an indication that you need to relocate the plant to a sunnier spot.
Water thoroughly when the first 2" of soil is dry, and until you can see water draining from the bottom of the pot. Dragon tails like the humidity, you'll benefit from setting up a pebble tray under the pot. When planted in a hanging basket, the Dragon Tail will vine, but it can also be trained to climb trellises using the aerial roots it grows!
