Medium Philodendron Dragon Tail (Rhaphidorphora decursiva)

Similar to a Monstera, the ridges on the dark green, shiny leaves of the Philodendron Dragon Tail will split as they get bigger. These sleek plants originate from the Philippines, and enjoy bright indirect light and warm temperatures, so keep them away from drafty windows. Luckily, it is a drought tolerant plant and will be okay if you forget about it for a couple of days.
PHILODENDRON DRAGON TAIL CARE
LIGHT
These plants are originally from the humid forests of the Solomon Islands, so they love a warm spot with indirect bright light. If you notice your plant seems to be stretching, with longer stem sections between the leaves, this is an indication that you need to relocate the plant to a sunnier spot.
WATER
Dragon tails love moist — but not wet!— soil. If you can feel that the soil is dry more than 2" deep, it's time to give the plant a nice thorough watering. Go slowly, until you see water draining from the bottom of the pot. Since these plants like humidity, you'll benefit from setting up a pebble tray under the pot.
GROWTH HABITS
Planted in a hanging basket, the Dragon Tail will trail down beautifully. It can also be trained to climb using the aerial roots it grows! Hardy and durable, the fast-growing Dragon Tail will please plant parents for years if properly cared for. You might even be graced by some green flowers that appear only in summertime.
