Full Size Peruvian Cactus
Commonly known as the Peruvian Apple Cactus, or just the Apple Cactus, this slow-growing succulent is native to the Andes Mountains in South America. With its deep green, star-shaped stalk and contrasting red protective spikes, the Peruvian Cactus is sure to bring a desert vibe into your space!
Being that it's from a high mountain climate, it thrives in warm temperatures, bright indirect sunlight, low humidity, dry soil and will grow up to 8 ft tall or more indoors. This makes them great as statement plants in a big bright room with lots of windows or a bright corner near a window!
Lighting
This plant originates from the desert, so naturally they would need some sort of sunlight. Keep it - minimum- indirect bright light.
Watering
Think of a desert, you probably imagine cracking soils right? Mimic that with this plant, it tolerates a lot of drought but at the same time cannot stand too much water (wet feet is a bad feeling)
Water once every month or so for a peruvian cactus this size. Water only when half of the soil is very very dry.
